Wish List & In-Kind:
Gifts Beyond Measure
At The Little Yellow Building, we understand that true generosity comes in many forms, and some of the most profound contributions are those that cannot be quantified in dollars. The gift of your time, your skills, or even the careful thought behind an item donation is a deeply valued gesture that we never take for granted. This page outlines ways you can contribute, should you feel moved to do so, knowing that any support you offer, be it a much-needed supply or a piece of your precious time, it is a genuine honor to receive and an invaluable investment in our students' growth.
Our Wish Lists: Direct Support for Daily Needs
Sometimes, the most straightforward way to contribute is by helping us acquire the supplies and items that keep our studio thriving day-to-day. We've compiled specific wish lists with our trusted retailers, making it easy to see our current needs and send items directly to our door. Your thoughtful contribution of these essential materials allows us to focus our resources directly on student programming and creative exploration.
Simply click on your preferred store below to view our current needs:
Blick Art Supply
Blick Art Materials is our primary supplier for nearly all of our high-quality art supplies, from paints and brushes to canvases and specialized papers.
Walmart
Walmart is where we source most of our unconventional project materials like polymer clay, wire, and hot glue, as well as essential supplies for building student workbooks, including binders, heavyweight paper, cardstock, and ink.
Amazon
Amazon is our go-to for expanding our studio library with unique books, especially if we can't source them directly from the publisher, writer, or artist. It's also where we find those wonderfully obscure niche items and "weird little things" needed for very specific student projects, like teddy bear eyes for a special book creation!
In-Kind Contributions: Giving What Is Priceless
While all forms of support are deeply appreciated, there are contributions that resonate on an entirely different level—gifts that extend beyond currency or items. The giving of yourself, your invaluable time, your unique life experience, and your cherished expertise is an investment that transcends measure. It speaks to a profound belief in what we are doing at The Little Yellow Building, so much so that you feel moved to become a part of it. When you offer yourself in this way, you are investing a piece of your very essence into our mission, and for that, we believe there is no greater gift. It is truly priceless.
Studio & Art Supply Donations: Fueling Creativity Directly
While our online wish lists cover many of our everyday needs, the generous donation of art supplies and studio equipment plays a vital role in our ability to offer exceptional creative experiences. We deeply appreciate any new or gently used art materials you might consider contributing.
How Your Supply Donations Transform Learning:
When we receive art supply donations, we carefully curate the materials, pulling items that are directly usable for our lessons and projects. Twice a year, we hold a special "Student Supply Pick" event, where our young artists joyfully go through the remaining donated items, choosing one large or two smaller treasures each week until everything finds a new home. This not only provides them with personal resources but also teaches them the value of sharing and repurposing.

Dream Equipment for Our Growing Studio:
Beyond consumable supplies, we often dream of larger additions that would significantly expand our students' creative horizons. If you feel moved to contribute something truly transformative, we envision:
A dedicated kiln: To allow students to explore ceramics from start to finish.
A printmaking press: To delve into traditional printmaking techniques.
An advanced studio printer: To enhance digital art and photographic printing capabilities.
Any contribution, big or small, to our studio's physical resources is received with immense gratitude and immediately put to good use in shaping young artists.
Professional Services & Expertise: The Gift of Time and Talent
Beyond physical items, some of the most profound contributions come from those willing to share their invaluable time, specialized skills, and life experience. When you lend your expertise, you're investing a piece of yourself into our mission, helping us grow in ways that direct funding simply cannot achieve. These gifts are truly priceless, and every hour shared is received with immense respect and deep gratitude.
We are a small studio with big dreams, and as the sole individual running daily operations, the generosity of a skilled hand or a thoughtful mind makes an immeasurable difference. We would be profoundly grateful for support in areas such as:
Photography & Videography: Capturing the magic of student work, studio life, and exhibitions.
Cleaning & Maintenance: Helping us maintain a pristine and inspiring creative environment.
Legal & Accounting Guidance: Expert advice to navigate the complexities of running a growing studio, especially from someone who truly understands the local business landscape and shares our vision for the future.
Marketing & Communications: Expanding our reach, managing public engagement, and ensuring our story resonates with audiences, allowing us to connect with more aspiring artists and supportive patrons.
Event Support & Volunteering: Lending a hand with studio events, open houses, or special projects, providing essential person-power and a friendly face.
General Handyman & Lawn Services: Helping maintain our physical space, ensuring it remains welcoming and safe.
Strategic Advising & Local Insight: Offering guidance from a local perspective on business strategy, marketing initiatives, and community engagement. This kind of mentorship is invaluable in ensuring our efforts effectively serve and connect with our unique Mississippi audience.
If you possess a skill or expertise you believe could benefit The Little Yellow Building, please know that your willingness to share it is seen as one of the most generous contributions imaginable.
