Lexie W. Covington, 97, of Brookhaven, MS, was born on September 1, 1924, in Brookhaven, MS, to John M. Wilkinson and Maybelle Sykes Wilkinson. LaLa was a member of New Sight Baptist Church. She worked for many years at the picture show. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Preceding her in death were her parents John and Maybelle Wilkinson; husband of 53 years, J.C. Covington; daughter Ramona Case; grandson Jody Butler and 9 siblings.
Survivors are her children, Prine Covington (Sandra), Cynthia Smith (Tommy), Mark Covington (Ronda); 8 grandchildren, Jeff Covington (Patty), Mike Covington (Robin), Shawn Case (Amy), Rhett Case (Jessie), Josh Smith (Tammy), Derek Smith, Ben Covington (Beth) and Brittany Alexander (Tyler); 17 great-grandchildren; son-in-law Jerry Nelson Case and a host of family and friends.
