Dorothy Moore
Dorothy Moore was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi.
She was showing a talent for singing, and by age three, her mother was taking young Dorothy to Gospel programs and surrounding her with music.
Dorothy worked her way up to soloist in her choir and won singing competitions before graduating high school.
In college, Dorothy began working with producers and record labels, landing herself a spot in The Poppies. In 1976 she broke into a solo career with her grammy-nominated single “Misty Blue.”
Dorothy has maintained her life in Jackson, Mississippi, all while giving her gift to the world.
