"Hailing from the Mississippi's capitol city, I've always had a lifelong passion for art. From dancing to writing, playing music, and drawing, I've maintained a deep love for many creative endeavors throughout the years. My love of printmaking began in college with classes on the medium and a professor that helped me find my voice in it. From the start, this series has been inspired by the architecture of my home-away-from-home, New Orleans, and its thriving community of artists, such as James Michalopoulos. While it all began with whimsical, black and white shotgun houses, it evolved into an exploration of color and the atmospheric effects I found by combining intaglio and relief printing methods. With the addition of color, this problem took on a whole new life and began to truly reflect the Big Easy’s multifaceted atmosphere and culture."
